Walkabout Festival for Kids (raising money for (PIPA) Preterm Infacts' Parents' Association).

The objective of this polewalking charity fundraiser is to raise funds to buy equipment for local special needs children and babies that would not otherwise be purchased.  The charity workers liaise with the paediatricians attached to the Tweed hospital who advise what equipment is not included in the hospital budget.  This year they achieved their goal to raise enough funds to buy 2 high dependency cots and a resuscitation unit for the special care nursery. It involves a Gala Night and Family Fun Day (whilst the polewalkers are competing). The Festival is held annually on the first weekend of May.
